MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor tops the AnTuTu fastest smartphone list

Leading Android smartphone benchmarker AnTuTu.com has published its ‘Best performance smartphones’ survey for July–September 2014. The good news? The MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor powers the fastest smartphone on the list — the Meizu MX4.

The top 10 list of Android smartphones is based on AnTuTu benchmark data from 160 countries. With an average score of 48,792, the Meizu MX4 beats some serious competition from eight other manufacturers.

Launched in September 2014, the MX4 is the fourth smartphone from Beijing-based Meizu and it features an impressive specification. Dual-mode 4G LTE gives wide compatibility with high-speed mobile data networks around the world, while 802.11ac Wi-Fi delivers super-fast wireless network performance.

The MX4 also features a 20-megapixel camera with lightning-fast 0.3-second autofocus and a 25 shots-per-second burst mode for flexible still photography — plus 4K Ultra HD video recording for capturing those special moments in crystal clarity. All of which look great on the MX4’s 5.36-inch, 1920 x 1152, display.

Of course, we’re delighted that this incredible performance all comes courtesy of the MediaTek MT6595 octa-core system-on-a-chip at the heart of the Meizu MX4.

With four ARM Cortex-A17 and Cortex-A7 processors that can be used in any combination, thanks to MediaTek CorePilot™ technology, MT6595 offers a perfect balance of outstanding performance and ultra-low power consumption.

Proprietary MediaTek technology is also behind the chip’s wide array of multimedia features, including MediaTek ClearMotion™ to ensure smooth video playback at 60fps and MediaTek MiraVision™ technology for DTV-grade picture quality.

So congratulations to Meizu for making the MX4 the fastest smartphone around — and we hope you don’t mind if we give ourselves a pat on the back for helping make it possible.
